Burnt in Effigy

History

Burnt in Effigy was a Symphonic Blackened Death Metal band located in Fresno, CA. The band originally began as a two piece about Mid-2005 with Daniel "Icepick" Hannesson on guitar and Chris Williams on drums. Then came in Gorgan Hinthorne on bass. After months of auditions and little progress, we decided to bring in Justin Garcia and Joe Ambrecht on guitars and move Daniel to vocals. This new line-up allowed us to advance at an astounding rate. In early December 05, Daniel was forced to return to his homeland of Iceland, and with that we decided to part ways with him. After several months of searching, Darren Brum was hired as the full time vocalist in February 2006. In late June 2006, long time friend Hawk Duncan was recruited to be the full time keyboardist for the band.



The End



On October 5th 2006, Burnt In Effigy decided to part ways due to its individual's desires to take different musical paths. For the most part a mutual break up, we will all miss the awesome audiences we have played for and the overwhelming feeling one gets when they stand up in front of the crowd. We'd like to look at this as an opportunity to grow individually and strengthen the local music scene. Hopefully this is the beginning of a new group of bonds that will take the Fresno music scene to another level. Thank you to all of those who have supported us.
