Hi my name is Brian Houston and this is my story so far.

I write songs and make records.i play showspeople comesometimes they buy records and dvds and then I go to the next town and do it again.people laugh and people cry.don't know why?it seems it touches their soulsmore come the next time I playespecially in Americathats nice.A new one is just hatching nowI made it with my friendsits great !!!! I thinkwell i like it anyway.I'll play more shows in Ireland England America and Canadaanywhere they speak English and can make me out.it will be the best one everI hope .life is rich when your songs are on the radio and people love you.I'm grateful for thathey this year I even got a song on a record with Elvis Presley and Patty Griffinlife is sweet when you're in the company of legends.I hope to be well known for my music across the world some day.I'm sure it will happen quite unexpectedly. just when I'm not looking.I'm looking forward to that.well in a "I'm not looking" . kinda waythen i'll own a big fancy studio and have big house and build a home for battered sausages. I mean wives."its a good life after all". Justin Townes Earle said that."I'm a lucky man and getting luckier". I made that bit up by myself.Oh and this is what they said about my last one.it must have been ok i suppose. .

oh so you know this is what i'm not cool, trendy, shoe gazing, indie rock, diva big hair big voice big assets, available for reality TV, games shows or star making programmes.i write great tunes that mean some thing to real people.if that's not your thing check out this link

Recent Press:

'Three Feet From Gold' is Belfast's Brian Houston's latest album release; As good as anything currently doin' the rounds and better than most, 'Three Feet From Gold' covers all bases and sets a high standard for all to follow.

A Belfast brogue, silky voice and some bloody great songs, Houston plies all his charm and charisma into this excellent album. A distinctive and compelling, exceptional album.

'Three Feet From Gold' is relaxed yet exciting, bright, breezy and a positive pleasure to behold. Great listening no matter where you are or who you're with,

Take almost any individual track and it could be released as a viable single in its own right - such is the strength in depth of Houston's 'masterpiece'!

Houston positively cruises through his wholesome set-list of thirteen little gems of modern musical genius. it's a little cracker!!

'Three Feet From Gold' by Brian Houston is an inspired collection of finely crafted and beautifully executed songs. A worthy contender and a hard act to follow, methinks. Splendid, splendid stuff!!

Three feet from Gold

Effortlessly bridges the gap between the impish

twinkle in the eye and fragile openness…beautifully simple

Brian Houston has the imagination to draw on all sides of life

for inspiration and this naturally engaging performer is able to capture the natural warmth and charm he displays on stage and transfer it to CD

Brian Houston is one of life's born storytellers, willing, or perhaps more accurately compelled, to open his heart. He cares deeply about the subjects of his songs and perhaps even more deeply in how they are presented to the audience. He may be engaging and charming but he's not about to sell his talents cheaply.

By the end of Three Feet Of Gold you're left with the unshakable belief that every track is the best it possibly could be and from a talent like Brian Houston's, that's saying something.

BRIAN HOUSTON 'Three Feet From Gold' BHS (2008)

Put bluntly this is a wonderful album!

Albums like this are what I love about reviewing

There is so much musical variety and good, strong melodies on here whether it be the gospel tinged 'Sister Of Mine' or the instant hit that is the single 'Oranges'…. 'Somebody Save Me' reminds me of early REM whilst 'The Queen Of Hearts' is one of the best pop rock tunes I have heard all year

These varied styles all meld well with Brian Houston's vocals which are melodious and easy on the ear.

The production is crystal clear allowing the listener to pick each instrument out of the musical mix.

The sign of a good album for me is the more you play it the more you discover and enjoy after each listen and this album succeeds at this with aplomb.

- Belfast Telegraph.

'Another immaculate example of Houston's conversational pop songcraft!'

- Maverick Magazine July 2006****

'An Irish treasure waiting to happen…Houston’s brand of lively and passionate folk rock demonstrates his finely tuned melodic sense and clever, astutely commercial writer’s ear…his shear exuberance as a performer…Houston is a natural communicator….an extremely unpretentious artist…far from being a cheerful but vacuous crowd-pleaser…Houston ensures that there is heartfelt lyrical substance behind every song… a glimpse of his easy humorous rapport with an audience…ensures that a spin of this well crafted album invariable ends in a smile'
