From the ashes of Buckle Up and Minor Setback here's Break of Day. The five of them started rocking out in 2005 and they bring you a fast punkrock experience in the vein of Strike Anywhere, Rise Against and Strung Out with many (post-) hardcore influences. Fast and shredding guitar riffs, often including some nice solos, supported by a fast and furious drummer, a pounding bass line, and vocals switching from clean to screaming are what you can expect.

After releasing their demo album ‘Where Ends Meet Life Begins’ in 2006, Break of Day has played a bunch of shows in Belgium. This way they had the opportunity to share the stage with incredible bands like Strike Anywhere, Hot Water Music, Verse, This is a Standoff, Cro-Mags, The Hurt Process, Across Five Aprils, The Casino Brawl, Far From Finished, Rentokill, Face Tomorrow, Fire in the Attic, No Turning Back, The Real Danger, Atlas Losing Grip, Noyalty, Tenement Kids, Smash the Statues, When We Fall, Skin of Tears, Sparkle of Hope, Homer, The Setup, Belgian Asociality and many more.

The band has also gone through a lot of changes, both in terms of music, as well as their line-up, since their long time friend and guitar player Jelle decided to quit the band. He was replaced by Tim Dries, a passionate guitar player that also handles the six-string in the band Give Us Your Money. Musically, the band kind of left the sound they had when they created the demo album. They now play even faster music that transmits a lot of anger and passion.

On the 8th of November, the band released their debut album 'The Hangman's Fracture' in JC De Klinker in Aarschot. The album, recorded by Dirk Miers at Dé Studio in Asse and mastered by Jason Livermore in The Blasting Room, was released through the great Funtime Records label and was well received. Besides some friends doing some gang vocals, the album features guest performances by former Buckle Up singer Gert Croonenborghs on Dawn of the World, and by Homer/PN frontman Johan Quinten on Contrast. The album deals with some horrific political and historical events like the Hans Van Temsche murder spree in Antwerp, the Troubles in Northern Ireland and the situation in Tibet. The song Father's Day is about the loss of a father in an early stage in life, and the celebration of good memories.

In a time where image is more important than music, they try to bring to you the true passion of music and that makes it an intensive experience to hear. With lyrics switching from emotional to political, this band wants to explain to you their point of view. Influenced by political bands like Bad Religion, Strike Anywhere and Verse, and a history that is too fucked up to ignore, they talk about historical facts that make their blood boil. Listen, visualize and create your own opinion on these matters, they are your worries too.
