BOY WONDER

Boy Wonder’s musical vision is to “make the soundtrack that defines his generation and forever inspires.” Born to Brazilian parents and raised in Tampa, Fl, his musical journey began while promoting for a local Rap Group where he met Acafool of Florida Street Anthem “HaterBlockers” fame. Acafool encouraged Boy Wonder to start going to the studio to write songs and develop his own sound. Despite the initial success of his first mixtape which led to a feature in Ozone Magazine as one of the next unsigned to blow, and another upcoming artist feature on SOHH.com, he still felt like he yet to find a signature sound. As a listener, he was always a huge fan of Sublime and grew up on early ‘90s Techno, Soul, House and Brazilian funk and wanted to combine those influences into his music. A chance meeting in 2004 with experimental Producer Rieces Pieces led to a relationship that later led to the fresh sound he was looking for. The Rieces Pieces and 100Akres produced lead single “Idiot” borrows elements from Ska, Punk, Rock and Hip Hop over Boy Wonder’s vocal admissions of his own short comings. “Idiot” has been referred to by various Tastemakers and DJs as a shocking but welcomed anti-theme song to traditional male anthems of swag & bravado normally heard from new artists. The track quickly spread virally via the internet and eventually garnered attention from the selective ear of Outkast/Chester French /N.E.R.D Engineer Neal Pogue who eventually mixed the record, a huge accomplishment for a new unsigned artist.
