When it comes to country music in Dallas, Boys Named Sue® are what you would call a “big deal.” As the self-proclaimed "Best Band Ever", the Sues have yet to play for a crowd that they could not win over. While playing the music that folks like to hear, or "the Hits" as they like to call them, these beer swilling, Tuaca shooting ruffians have been known to melt a face or two in the crowd.

Originating from the EDT (East Dallas, Texas that is), Boys Named Sue fuse the best of old country with contemporary styles (rock, hip hop, shock jock) and an infectious stage presence that just makes you want to get up and dance. Just don't forget to dip yer partner when you're done.

Boys Named Sue is comprised of four of Big D's best. or at least best looking musicians. Wrought from such great bands as The O's, Rose County Fair, Slick 57, The Fabulous Harmonaires, Phantom Rockers, Kim Lenz and the Jaguars, JD Whittenburg & Trainwreck and Mark David Manders, these boys have become a musical force unto itself. They can be heard playing in honky-tonks across the greater Texas area and have shared the stage with many influential country artists such as the Wreckers, Old 97s, Junior Brown, Billy Joe Shaver, David Allen Coe, Shooter Jennings, Moot Davis, Pete Anderson, Shaun Sahm, Shandon Sahm, Augie Meyers and Flaco Jimenez as well as some not-so-country folks such as Grammy-Award winning polka band Brave Combo, international touring punk band UK Subs, rockabilly Stray Cat legend Lee Rocker and the bearded rockers ZZ Top.

Yielding the “Fist of Country,” Sue-Ah leads the band with vocals that remind the listener of ol' Hank Sr himself and guitar solos that'll make yer head spin. Snakebite Sue keeps the beat fresh (yo!) and sings honky-tonk harmony that would make Buck Owens and Don Rich proud. Bobby Sue has been called the best fiddler North of the Trinity and South of the Red River. We don't know if that’s true or not, but he certainly smiles a lot. Finally, there’s Dub Sue who is best described in Haiku format:

Dub Sue Plays the bass

A.K.A. the dub boss

A lady killer

Boys Named Sue’s debut CD release, "The Hits, Vol One" quickly began getting radio play and recognition worldwide and was listed as one of the Top 10 Albums of 2006 in the Dallas Observer. The Sue's “Hits” have thrice won them the Observers’ "Best Country Band" award as well as the "Best Song" award for "Honky-Tonk If Yer Horny". The "hit" song was also featured on the A&E television series "The Riches". You may ask how such greatness can come from one band but that’s easy.

HITS HAPPEN!!!

So check them out at a venue near you. Grab a cold one, buy the band a round of Tuacas and enjoy the good times. Also keep your eye out for "The Hits, Vol Sue" now available for pre-sale on iTunes!
