The Music



While most musicians are inept to admit it, some are proud of their background and musical heritage. Hailing from Bay City, MI, the city by the Saginaw Bay once again offers another strong upper hand in modern music: born.



A powerhouse of many different musical combinations, the group is the unique fuse of modern edge and classic rock. Not forgetting the mix of art rock and alternative, born has crushed rock with a delicate hand. Formed in 1999 as the byproduct of many successful local high school groups, born came together to serve music on a unique basis when the industry was lost on teeny-bop pretense and one-hit, song-for-the-moment heavies. Living on the creation of "the song", fans soon picked up on the group's ability to perform their original creations rather than follow the usual musical fad



Under the Influence



If one could picture a puddle of sound waves based upon influences from bands like Tool, The Deftones, Glassjaw, Helmet, and Quicksand, your getting close. The underbelly beauty of the group offers a glance at Pink Floyd, Sunny Day Real Estate, The Cure, and Pearl Jam. The guitar interplay of Studniarz and Bolduc offers the most unique impressions as their individual styles are as complementary as they are standout on their own. Harv's brash style of tight grooves and flawless timing remains the backbone of the born body. The three come together revolving around the glue of Nowak's thick, moving bass lines. Unparalleled with many of today's shoe-gazers and dancers, Nowak not only creates the groove on bass, he sings from the toes with a vocal passion, ability and energy which offer more soul than can be captured in one setting. It's not surprising that this is a real, working band
