boon

boon is a collection of four very different minds who have formed a family through the glorious world of music. boon originally began in Dunedin, Florida in 2003. There’ve been several changes throughout the years, yet from its inception, two things remained constant; René Schlegel’s intense creatively memorable guitar riffs and melodies, and Pamela Middleton’s personal lyrics and compelling voice. In early 2005, boon was blessed to have Ray Berry bring his powerful and heartfelt drum beats to the band. Later that same year boon completed the family when Patrick Brooks joined with his intricate groove laden bass lines. The members of boon have taken their individual musical “spare change” to create a piggy bank of songs so distinctly different, it is hard to put the band into one specific “genre”. They’ve been called “funk-fusion”, “bluesy-funk”, “power-pop-with a side of soul” oh, the hyphenated list could go on for a while, they just like to say, “its music!”.
