Rockin' Bob

About Bob Cenci:

Rockin' Bob currently plays solo acoustic material for those who may joke and rib and call him Folkin' Bob now goes under the name 'Battle Green'. On occasion he'll share the stage with friends, he has written many a tune and has played in more than an armful of bands that stretch across decades He's traveled and also has shared the road & stage with a variety of bands But what he holds dear are the acoustic songs which he keeps close and always manages to preserve their rawness and simplicity These melodies that stick and cling along the path of life are steered by rough n tough vocal style creating a sound which some might equate to a string of tin cans being dragged across gravel In short he's been playing many a year and sees no stops ahead But maybe one day he will take a rest under a shady spot So until that day arrives stop in and give a listen and don't forget to cherish the moment.

Bassist wanted to complete Punkish Folk Trio, low volume and ability to play solid traditional North American styles of music, lots of experience necessary Recording project and gigs are already underway

Ordinary Everything by Bob Cenci

I'll be your ordinary, your hopeful ordinary everything

I'm stuck on your style, yet trip over your smile

And only seek the trouble that you bring

You're in flight, most every night

Be watchful on who you're playing

Keep my thoughts at bey, tell my dog to stay

Yet his tail keeps a waggin'

Temptation struck again

You're in your circle a braggin'

I'll be your ordinary, your hopeful ordinary everything

Though my timing may be impeccable

You're snobbery is a spectacle

Pardon, this lyric that I sing

I got no money, no friend

Bartender you'll have to tab me again

You're in flight, most every night

Be watchful on who you're playing

Keep my thoughts at bey, tell my dog to stay

Yet his tail keeps a waggin'

Temptation struck again

You're in your circle a braggin'

I'll be your ordinary, your hopeful ordinary everything

Eleven Roses by Bob Cenci

This first rose says that I love you

While the second keeps the first from feeling blue

The third rose seeks fine company

While the fourth makes an even suit

The fifth rose was found in a doorway

Intended for a heart felt fare thee well

And the six rose, I got on special

It came with every six pack on the shelf

This make shift bouquet of roses

Hopes to steel her heart away

Rose number seven, came from a funeral procession

Let's pay our last respects to the late great Rosy Kay

The next one was the eighth which came from Southie Way

From the no gay Irish pride parade

This make shift bouquet of roses

Hopes to steel her heart away

I was pressed for time to get rose number nine

Scoffed it from a Krishna for just a dime

I hopped a fence to get rose number ten

Got splinters in my breeches on the eleventh

So I gave her eleven roses, eleven rose make shift bouquet

Though its not quite a dozen, I'm gonna give her all my lovin'

And hope she'll take me any old way

This first rose says that I love you

While the second keeps the first from feeling blue

The Battle Greenby Bob Cenci

Bobby 's got a stick

Tommy threw a rock

Bobby got Tommy in a head lock

Listen to all that tough guy talk

Fists clench first, then a cheap shot

On the Battle Green

Bobby got his brother

Tommy got his gang

Bobby got another

Now who's to blame?

His T shirt gotta nasty blood stain

Somebody is calling the ambulance?

On the Battle Green

What started off as a push to shove

Ended with the fire from a hand gun.

Boy did we see Tommy's gang run

We all thought Bobby was done?

On the Battle Green

What are we Fighting For?

On the Battle Green

Tommy got arrested at age 19

Later that year he signed up to join the Marines

Packed his duffle bag and shipped out over seas

For his country he could fight.
