Klingt nach einer Crossoverband. Es ist auch eine. Mit dem kleinen, aber alles entscheidenden Unterschied, dass diese Formation mit Akustikgitarren und im Sitzen auftritt.



Die funkigen Grooves und der Rap, die für dieses Genre so typisch sind, wirken bei dieser Band, als hätten sie die ganze mindestens 15-jährige Geschichte des Genres über auf diese Chance gewartet, hinter ihren Gitterstäben aus harten Gitarrenriffs und gradliniger Rhythmik auszubrechen. Denn die Art, wie diese sich bei den Blurrd Minds in ihrem neuen Umfeld aus handgemachter Akustik, jazzig-harmonischer vielfalt und progressivem bis minimalistischem Songwriting bewegen, scheint auf geradezu magische Weise Klang- und Stimmungsdimensionen zu eröffnen, die den harten, gradlinigen Crossover der 90er und des frühen Jahrtausends nicht einfach nur verändern, sondern dem informierten Zuhörer den Eindruck vermitteln, er hätte endlich eine Möglichkeit gefunden sich zu entfalten.



Nicht nur in der Musik selbst, sondern in jedem einzelnen Detail eines Unplugged-Auftritts der Band, von den Zuschauerplätzen bis hin zur Bühenengestaltung, entführt einen diese Kombination von entspanntem Lagerfeuerplatz mit einem stetigen Hauch des Interessanten und Unbekannten in eine Welt, aus der man nur ungern wieder zurückkehrt.



Aus diesem Grund haben die Blurrd Minds im September 2008 einen ihrer Unplugged-Auftritte auf CD und DVD festgehalten: Um zumindest ein kleines Fenster zu dieser Welt auch im Alltag immer offen zu lassen.



Seit 2009 findet sich das Ergebnis auch in gut sortierten Plattenläden.

Blurrd Minds Biography



The Blurrd Minds were founded in 2003 when six blurrd boys from Landsberg/Lech (Germany) joined together at first predominantly for an easy kind of project. The six musicians who could all revert to huge musical experience had firstly devoted themselves to the common cause of music just for fun. But in process of time this alliance emerged not only as a musical relationship but also as a personal friendship among the band-members. The band- formation consisting of Görem Heydik (vocals), Matthias Huber (guitars, backround vocals), Benedict Mössinger (guitars), Bernhard Sassmann (drums, backround vocals), Johannes Beck (bass) and Nick Schönfelder (turntables) is not just classical but thats exactly what characterizes the unique sound of the Blurrd Minds.

The band-name was therefore chosen cautiously. From the blurrd mind of each single musician a style developed which constitutes itself as a mixture of funk-, hip hop- and progressive rock-music. The creative and profound song-writing which devotes itself to subjective experiences of band-members as well as topics of more abstract matter comes along with that. That implies a huge musical requirement which the Blurrd Minds try to meet.

By touring in Germany as well as in Austria by the end of 2005 the band could enlarge their fan-base and gain further and worthwhile experience in being on tour and playing live. Currently the Blurrd Minds are performing concerts to promote their first studio album "Sudden Drop Syndrome", which has been released on the 9th of June 2007.
