Blufoot

It’s about time everyone knew about Blufoot. ‘Blu’ has been DJ’ing, producing, presenting and generally representing British hip-hop for the last ten years. Along the way, he’s shared stages with the likes of US legends De La Soul, Jungle Brothers and Company Flow, as well as a veritable A-Z of the UK’s finest; Sway, Westwood, Rodney P, Skitz, Shortee Blitz, Big Ted and Blak Twang to name just a few. With a style of beat-making that retains a sense of the classic and pushes things forward in equal measures, many of the UK’s best MC’s lined up to appear on the long-awaited debut LP, ‘The Ablution,’ which dropped in 2005 on Scenario Records.



Blu is also a trainer obsessive, but with a difference. He owns a grand total of 68 pairs of Nikes, in colour schemes that no-one else wants. Individualism is a very important thing to Blu, far more important than attractive trainers it would seem.



But back to the point in hand; the music. Blu has been doing this since Air Force 1’s the first time around. Naturally easy to work and get on with, his skills have been called for by Estelle (JDID Recordings), Mystro (Low Life), Sway (Mobo Award winning mc), Infinite Livez (Big Dada) and Yungun (Janomi Records), and his DJs sets have subsequently warmed audiences appreciated by Africa Bambaata, DJ Premier and The Jungle Brothers.



Blu’s country, era and attitude spanning approach means his sets, like his own music, are broad-minded, diverse and very exciting, as listeners to his live mixes and interviews on Kiss 100, XFM, Radio 1 and Choice FM can testify.



Blufoot is at an exciting stage, touring the country with MC’s from the album, writing new tracks and releasing an awe-inspiring DOUBLE CD mixtape, the best of the UK and the best of the US, entitled ‘The Old Testament’ which was recently proclaimed ‘Compilation of the Month’ 5/5 by Touch Magazine and 'A formidable union between stars & stripes and union jack' by Blues & Soul.
