Members Alan Bibey, Joey Cox, Junior Sisk, Alan Johnson, and Eddie Biggerstaff joined forces for their first album, Common Ground, in 1998. Prior to their formation, band members played with a wide array of famous names including New Quicksivler, IIIrd Tyme Out, The Lonesome River Band, Larry Cordle, and Lou Reid. A hit from the start, BlueRidge soared onto various charts and Common Ground became the 3 selling bluegrass album of the year.



Their latest, Side By Side, was nominated for a Grammy, reached 3 on the Bluegrass Now chart, and had a song hold the 1 position on the Gospel Truths chart for three months.



A favorite of the SPBGMA, Alan is an 8 time Mandolin Player of the Year. BlueRidge is an 8-time winner of Instrumental Group of the Year, and 4 time Vocal Group of the Year. The group has also won single honors for Gospel Group, Bluegrass Album, and Guitar Player of the Year. Alan faired well at the 2001 IBMA Awards, bringing home the honors of Instrumental Recording of the Year and Recorded Event of the Year.
