Bluegrass 101 is a traditional bluegrass band that has been performing at festivals all around Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Tennessee for about 13 years.
Bluegrass 101 was formed in the spring of 1994 by Terry Waldridge and is a hard driving, traditional bluegrass band that enjoys performing for their audience. At the age of 35, Terry began playing bluegrass for the very first time but with his smooth vocals and hard driving guitar playing, you wouldn’t be the wise. With one foot planted firmly in the past and the other looking toward the future, Bluegrass 101 will astonish you with their smooth vocal harmony and precise traditional music. “They present a professional image and leave a lasting impression on the audience”. Bluegrass 101 has shared the stage with some of the most known names in the Bluegrass world, such as, Ricky Skaggs, Ralph Stanley and Doyle Lawson.
Bluegrass 101 has 6 albums recorded to date and received several awards over the years. In 2003, Bluegrass 101 received 1st place at the “Bluegrass Battle of the Bands” competition at the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, KY. Our first project was completed in the spring of 1998. This is an all gospel CD and the title cut is “Nobody Lives Here Anymore”, which was written by Terry Waldridge. Our Second project was completed in the summer of 1999, which is Van Buren, KY. On the second project, the title cut “Van Buren, KY”, which was written by Terry Waldridge. Our third project was completed in the Spring of 2001, which is titled “Bluegrass 101”. This project has 6 original songs written by different band members. We have currently signed with Music Man records, which have recorded all six of our projects. The fourth project “Live At Mackville” was released in September 2002. This is a “live recording performed at Mackville, Kentucky” on March 30, 2002 and presents to you our actual show performance. The fifth project “Sunday Morning Gospel” was released in August 2006. This is an all gospel album and has 6 original songs written by different band members. In August 2007, we released our 6th project “Full Steam Ahead”. There is plenty of great hard driving bluegrass music on this project.
There have been several changes since we began the band in 1994. Currently playing with Bluegrass 101 is:

We are currently looking to broaden our market on a higher spectrum.
