Knackige Breaks, Off-Beat-Gitarre und knallende Bläserattacken - SKA gemischt mit einer deftigen Portion PUNK, abgerundet durch einen Schuss ROCK: Das ist Blossom. Hier finden treibende Mitsingmelodien und chillige Reggae-Rhythmen zusammen, hier treffen dreistimmiger Gesang und groovige Wortakrobatik aufeinander. Kein T-Shirt bleibt trocken, kein Tanzbein still, wenn es heißt: „Tonight we fall for you! “

Blossom spielen Musik aus dem Herzen in die Seele. Komisch und skurril, ausgelassen feiernd und doch tiefsinnig. Die Texte als Flaggen gegen Gleichgültigkeit und Ignoranz. Blossom haben etwas zu sagen und können nicht still sein. „Musik ist für uns der zweite Blutkreislauf. Wir haben Spaß am Experimentieren und gehen gerne das Risiko ein, uns aus Versehen neu zu finden, ohne uns neu zu erfinden. Wir öffnen musikalische Schubladen, um uns hineinzulegen und zu wachsen, bis sie auseinanderbrechen“, sagt Sänger und Gitarrist Tobias.

Seit 2003 überlebt die Band ihre – für Skabands nahezu obligatorischen – Besetzungswechsel und kreuzte 2007 das 110. Konzert im Kalender an. 2005 erschien das Album „How Skaratekid and Triangle Joe Saved the World“, eine neue Platte ist für Sommer 2008 geplant.

Blossom drücken sich selber den Stempel „christlich“ auf die Stirn, ohne gängige Plattitüden zu bedienen. „Bei einer christlichen Band mutet man ja immer weltverbesserische, tiefbedeutungsvolle Texte an. Ich will das gar nicht in Frage stellen, wir wollen durchaus keine 0-8-15-Lyrics als Wortbeitrag zu einer schönen Melodie machen. Aber es geht bei uns nicht ums Klugscheißen oder eine Ich-Weiß-Das-Besser-Attitüde. Wir wollen Anstoß sein, da kratzen und unbequem sein, wo Leute sich fragen, was dieses Leben zu bieten hat und was es bedeutet. Keine Predigt. Aber auf jeden Fall Verkündigung. Wer einmal Gott trifft, ist nie wieder derselbe“, sagt Songwriter Tobias.

Smashing breaks, off beat guitar, and brass attacks – Blossom is SKA mixed with a hefty portion of PUNK refined by a shot of ROCK. Combining impulsive sing-along-hooks and laid-back Reggae rhythms as well as three-voiced vocal parts and groovy word acrobatics, the band leaves no shirt dry, no leg still. Listen to the chorus and feel the slogan: "Tonight we fall for you!"

Blossom play music from the heart right to the soul, hilariously celebrating themselves. Asking “How could we ever be so quiet?” these six young musicians still leave room for profound thoughts - their lyrics to be flags against languidness and ignorance. “All of us started making music when we were kids. Ever since, we’ve lived for it, it’s like our second bloodstream. We love experiments and gladly run the risk of accidentally finding ourselves without reinventing ourselves. We incorporate musical stereotypes to grow in it till they burst,” singer and guitarist Tobias says.

Blossom have survived their (nearly incumbent on skabands) line-up changes since 2003 and checked off their 130th concert in 2007. In 2005 their first album “How Skaratekid and Triangle Joe Saved the World” was released. A new record is planned for the summer of 2008.

Blossom mark themselves with the “Christian” stamp without confirming popular stereotpyes. “With Christian bands people always expect profound and do-gooder lyrics. I don’t want to call that into question for we don’t want to make run-of-the-mill lyrics for a nice melody. But we’re not up to wisecracking or some I-know-it-better attitude. We want to be an impulse, we want to be scratchy and inconvenient when people ask themselves what this life has to offer and what it means. No sermon but annunciation by all means. Once you’ve met God you’ll never be the same again,” songwriter Tobias says.
