The Bloody Honkies have called it quits!

After a whole lot of wild live gigs at bars, squats, major venues and big ass festivals, one full length album (‘The Gospel of The Bloody Honkies’) and 30.011.002 beers the show has ended.

We thank Ruud the Leprechaun, Lord Humungous, Wilson, Dyon, Japie, Eric&Appie, Peter the soundman, Martin, Maria, Mariet, Franky I&II, Lien, Minke, Torre&Rutger, all the people we’re probably forgetting and YOU, for all the support.

The Bloody Honkies - The only true story

Founded in a magic barn somewhere in the far east of Holland at the German border late 2005: Four soul brothers started playing. Loud, with a lot of love for the Holy trinity of rock 'n roll and a lack of respect for any convention. These boys felt the need to spread their own Gospel.

Sing- and danceman Lawrence Mul, guitarist Wout Kemkens, drummer Hooky and bass player Clemens Mul serve their relentless voodoo rock & roll raw, swingin', energetic and loud. Lyrics about life, death, women, love, religion, sodomy and the damage these pleasures cause are empowered by psychedelic and vulgar guitar licks and pumpin' bass & drums.

The boys started to rise out of obscurity after a live broadcasted Dutch radio and tv show in the spring of 2006. This turned out to be a great success and was soon followed by a showcase at Noorderslag/Eurosonic Festival. The success continued: they closed a record deal and got themselves a booking agency which got them playing a whole lot in the Dutch club- and festivalscene, where the boys made a name for themselves as a wild and excellent live-combo.

The debut album, The Gospel of The Bloody Honkies (Sonic Rendezvous/ Cargo Records), saw the light in October 2007 and received only good (and even raving!) reviews, in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. It also got nominated for best Dutch album (2008) by the VPRO (Dutch alternative radio –and tv station).

Above all things the Bloody Honkies is a LIVE-experience. That's what they do best, that's where the action is…so don't miss it!
