Blood Of Another

Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, Blood of Another has a unique sound that has been described as melodic death metal. With gut-wrenching vocals, bone-crushing drums ranging anywhere from pounding power drumming to whirling double bass, shredding guitar riffs that rip up the melodies and rumbling low bass lines.

Blood of Another has been on and off with two founding members Brad Nozicka and Al Zabolocky since 2003. They have been experimenting with the sound by rotating different musicians in and out for years. But due to either dedication issues or personal problems they were having trouble finding the right fit for the band. Original guitarist Weston Blaha had to part ways with the band while attending recording school in Florida for 2 years. After graduating, he came back home to see that the band was still writing music and playing shows (now with lead guitarist Jerome Marshall) but was having issues with finding a dedicated talented bass player. Still being able to connect with the sound of the music, Weston offered to pick up the bass and contribute his unique style of playing and knowledge from school to the band.

Knowing how important a well-recorded demo is for promotional reasons, Blood of Another started researching different studios and laying down tracks from one place to the next. Recording at places such as El Ray Music, Columbia, and finally Studio Chicago. While in the midst of solidifying the songs , the band came to the realization that they were going to need a drummer with more experience in order to get the fast attacking sound they were going for. That was when they recruited drummer Dave Swanson (former drummer for Enforsaken).



"Dave just came in to our rehearsal studio with Jerome and I and sat down. He didn't seem nervous or anything, he kept it very professional which really impressed us. He made it clear that he was primarily there to show what he could do and that he wanted to be writing this kind of music just as much as we did. Ever since the line-up has been locked into place the band has been picking up a tramendous amount of momentum. With writing new and improved songs, playing with more well-known bands at bigger and better venues, and taking their music/reputation more serious than ever. They are here to make an impression. They are here to demonstrate what their unique style is capable of. They will not rest until their music is heard by all. And they will not stop until their message gets across.
