Blessed BARAK is an acoustic reggae, nyahbinghi, roots and dancehall artist/musician. A Self taught guitar player and an excellent singer/songwriter, with a flavorful catalogue. He writes and co-produces a number of his own music. He is the Uniting pillar of the Lions Den Fam (LDF) and the heart of ‘Music With A Message’ .
Originating from the highest point in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, the musical BaRaKa (aka Blessed BARAK) is on the highest level. Singing on sound systems and with the local bands since the age of twelve. He has shared stages with the likes of Garnett Silk, Tony Rebel, Ninja Man, Beanne Man, Yellowman, Ghost, General Trees, Frankie Paul, Dead Prez and more.
He gives his time and music to the expression and progression of good values, principles and ideologies. Performing on stages representing LDF year to year at LDF’s own annual ‘Music With A Message’-Fire In The UK 08-10, Pan African events and festivals across the UK. Though highly requested in the dancehall, he filters his performances in loyalty to LDF affiliates and friends. He continues to work in unity, Coldworld Entertianment and Lions Den Fam are busy completing his forth coming debut album 'IGHTEOUS FLOW’ (due out Jan 2011). His music is rooted in culture and values, yet current and good enough to sustain time. Most importantly; BaRaKa is carrying a positive message at all times.
The Big Eye Newspaper has said that, ‘Blessed BARAK’s music is empowering, energetic and enlightening’. The Voice of America (VOA) news has stated, ‘. it is surely music of substance/food for the mind.’ Blessed BaRaK’s music is filled with consciousness and reality throughout. He has recently released a surprise promotional mix cd ‘AJ68-64’ with full energy on a number of songs for free download. He is a wise, yet young father, who sings music that is real and relevant in his eyes.
