Composed of the Maze on vocals and der Mate on keyboards, and drawing inspiration from early italian industrial greats such as Pankow and Templebeat, as well as modern dance legends like BT or Paul Oakenfold, Blank caught the attention of the electro underground with their self-produced demos released in 2000 and 2001.
Way before community sites like Myspace and digital downloads on iTunes were even conceived, BLANK made their music available for free download on their website. In 2000 and 2001, promo cds "424C414E4B" and "Brain Trigger" received hundreds of downloads and enthusiastic reviews and club spins all over the world, that got BLANK a solid following and a deal with canadian Artoffact records.
BLANK finally debuted in 2003 with the "Overhead ep" featuring remixes by Moonitor, Implant and Tim Schuldt, and released their first full-length, the critically praised "Artificial Breathing", in 2004. A few months later, new songs and remixes appeared on the split-CD "Uturn 3", teaming up with Icon of Coil's Sebastian Komor project Moonitor.
After a well-deserved break and a couple of years of work in their studio, theMaze and derMate finally released a digital-only single titled "Hellbound EP", featuring remixes by Diskonnekted and Blind Faith and Envy that marked BLANK comeback in july 2007, and was followed a few weeks later by the second album "Impact Zone".
Aiming at the dancefloor and at the heart, BLANK are going to surprise you with their unique blend of thought-provoking lyrics, deep vocals and energetic dance beats.
