History of New Hope International

As only 25 members were worshipping God within the confines of a trailer, a past substance abuser, Jeffery Poole, was answering, and pursuing the call of God on his life. Pastor Jeff and Lisa Poole’s burning desire to win souls for Christ through the preaching of God’s Word, proved that they were faithful and passionate servants of God. This marked the beginning of a new journey as King’s Chapel Church of God in October 1987.

After relocating to 2290 GA Highway 127 East with 45 members, King’s Chapel Church of God transitioned into New Hope Church of God. Since 1993, New Hope Church of God experienced a mighty move of God as the Church increased to over 1100 members. With the expansion of this vision, a new facility was constructed in October 1997. 2440 GA Highway 127 was the new home for New Hope Church of God. To accompany this exciting turning point, the vision expanded to focus on the pursuit of purpose, the saving of souls and racial harmony – a rare find in Kathleen, Georgia.

New Hope International’s vision is:

To promote the pursuit of purpose by obedience to God’s Word, resulting in a ‘Kingdom of God Mentality’, causing racial walls to be torn down, and souls to be redeemed back to God, through impartation, prayer, praise and worship, effecting a change in our community, our region and our world.

In June 2005, a milestone decision was made to change from New Hope Church of God to New Hope International. Senior Pastor, Bishop Jeff Poole, is Overseer of several ministries having a strong desire to continue to grow and learn.

“My main desire is for people to find God as a place of refuge, help and hope. I have a burden to see people who are in bondage, and addicted to drugs, alcohol, etc. to be set free by the power of God. I also have a passionate desire to grow, learn and enlarge our God given territory.”

- Bishop Poole

The hand of God has positioned this congregation to experience further growth. New Hope International has purchased 62 acres of land, and has built a 55,000 + square foot facility, which seats over 1,500 people.

“The Church is not a denomination, or a building, but a living organism that knows who they are, and what their purpose is.”

- Bishop Poole

As the Church continues to walk in its God given authority and power, the world will recognize it as a light in times of darkness, operating as the salt of the earth, which will influence the social, educational, racial, governmental and economic areas within the entire world.
