Billy no mates is the the solo project of Duncan Redmonds(Snuff,Guns 'n' wankers,Duncans Diva's,The Toy Dolls,5 shitty fingers etc.).While Snuff snoozed the first album "We are legion" was recorded late 2004 and released early 2005 on 10past12 records. Duncan recorded everything thus the "Billy no mates" tag. Later it was decided to try to put three bands together to play the songs live. One in Britain, one in Japan and one in the USA. Japanese and UK line ups fell in to place quickly and both set off on tour. It was then decided to record with them both. First was a split single with Milloy featuring the UK Billy line up of Duncan,Will,Wes,Joe and Tom recording a version of "Look at you" and a new song "058". Next was an album recorded in Japan in 2006 with the Japanese members, Ken, Horie, Makoto and Yuya. This is available on Pizza of Death and 10past12 records called "C'MONLETMESEEYOUPOGO". After various gigs, tours, wet farts, broken ribs and changes in the UK line up came a Billy UK tour EP "Hotcakes" for the German tour in 2008.2009 and Duncan decided to go back on drums in the UK line up(sorry Pete, no hard feelings) and in comes Ed "Waterboy" Wenn aka Shred on second guitar. Sometime after a tour in 2008 the Japanese line up changed after Yuya (Chunky) quit music and disappeared, Chunky where are you?
It was then decided to record an album featuring performances from a mixture of UK and Japanese members, Ken(guitar/vox) and Horie(keys) from the Japanese line up plus Wes(bass), Steve(guitar) and Ed(guitar) from the UK line up. The album "Duck Duck Goose" was finally finished 2010 and is set for release in Japan on Inya face records 02-09-10 and No Idea records in the US(release date not set yet). It also features performances from Terry Edwards(sax) and Lee Erinmez from Snuff on bass and some stonking artwork from Chris Shary.2010 and finally the US line up has finally arrived. Sergie from Samaim offered his services a couple of years back but it wasnt until an acoustic tour with Joey Cape in Japan 2010 that it all fell into place. Joey was up for it and suggested Chicken from Dead to me on bass, he said he was in and there it was. This line up will record a new album and gig in SF in November 2010. Oi Oi up the punks!
