Biljana Krstic has been on the Yugoslav pop scene for a long time. Her sincere stage presence and beautiful voice and her interpretations of obscure folk songs from the territories of Kosovo, southern Serbia, Macedonia, the Vlach district in east Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary have made her one of the most popular performers in the Balkan DJ scene from Paris to Vienna.

Bilja graduated at the Music Academy in Belgrade. She started her music career singing in a choir; later on, mid ‘70s, she sang in two acoustic bands, one led by Bora Djordjevic and the other by Djordje Balasevic.

Her solo career began in 1983 with the album "Prevari veceras svoje drustvo sa mnom". 3 pop-oriented albums followed: "Iz unutrasnjeg dzepa" (1985), "Loptom do zvezda" (1990) and "Bilja" (1994). Bilja enjoys continuing success since forming the Bistrik Orchestra in the mid ‘90s, with the albums "Bistrik" (2001), "Zapisi" (2003) and "Tarpos" (2007) all becoming best sellers.
