In January of 2006 On Our Own Music Groups CEO and one of the most sought after Musical Talent Managers in Chicago “RapZur” AKA “Big Nawlege” lost his mother unexpectedly to a pulmonary embolism. His mother, after seeing him endure heartbreak after heartbreak with artists made him promise to put out a project himself. After three highly successful singles: The Mixtape Song Of The Year Nominated “U Fucced Up feat R&B singer Spillz” also “Itz My Prayer featuring R&B singer Corisma” and “The End of a Soldier featuring the soulful Indi Blu” in the past few years along with this years controversial single “These Cats feat R&B singer Spillz” RapZur feels 10 is his time to shine as a artist.RapZur AKA Big Nawlege made his name in Chicago by being one of the most sought after managers in the area. Being the highly motivated and dedicated person he is, he was able to take three different acts to the brink of major label deals. As a manager he was known for having one of the most talented rosters in Chicago and getting the best shows for his clients. He also was known for throwing some of the best shows as well. His clients are disciplined, well prepared and versatile being able to perform in any type of environment. In 2004 after working in the songwriting and A&R dept. for a successful independent label he decided to go out on his own and form On Our Own Music Group, which is not a record label, but rather a music company specializing in Executive Management, Artist Development and Music Business Consultation. He felt there is a need for this because “ So many people want to do music, but so few actually know how to do music.” He has worked with Trinity of SheWins Ent., Project Recordz Inc, Chris Shields Block or Nothing/Hundred Grand, Project Fr3sh, Paul Scientific, Black Plague and Billion Dollar Ballers just to name a few.As a artist RapZur (Big Nawlege Artist Name) has performed in some of Chicago's biggest venues: McCormick Place, House of Blues and former Tweeter Center. His style is not preachy, yet its informative, ghetto but not gutter, smooth, but yet slick as you can tell by his delivery he puts one in the mind of a Common, Talib Kweli, Q-Tip or Erik Sermon. He began writing songs at age 8 and at age 10 began performing at local talent shows and when he was 16 he got the privilege to come out the crowd and spit a flaming 16 with NWA on the Hammer Tour in Montgomery Alabama. Due to sports, he received a full scholarship to play basketball in college he got away from music, but now has come full circle. With the new single "Hey" coming “August 2010” and a Mixtape project “Plain And Simple” Sept 2010 and EP “Get Ready” Winter 10. Rapzur is saying “ I got a message with my music and I was once told that if you make your music a message God will take you places to spread it. There will be no cursing or derogoratory lyrics on future projects as he feels the game has enough of that already. He knows there are naysayers and haters but he is confident in God and not Man.If you looking for someone to give you an honest opinion about your music and help you come up with a plan for success please send me a message, serious inquiries only and remember NOTHING WILL WORK UNLESS YOU DO!
