Big Murph began doing hip-hop music at age 12. He began writing songs and recording using his personal karaoke machine. Since then, he has completed his debut album entitled "The Unexpected" and has performed and/or collaborated with Shamako Noble, D. Labrie, the duo GTA comprised of B-Jada and Nutt, Tha Spitta, Mr. 521, Rahman Jamaal, Step One, Tizoc, and V-Boy. Big Murph has also opened shows for and done performances alongside Mistah F.A.B., Dem Hoodstarz, Meko Makafi, Turf Talk, and Tha Jacka. He is for the most part self-produced, writing every song and composing and creating nearly every beat. Not only does Big Murph rap, but he plays drums and piano, allowing him to generate sounds through live instrumentation. Big Murph has already held a record release party for "The Unexpected," which has sold more than 500 copies, received a feature article in the Menlo Park Almanac, and was the cover story for the February 2005 issue of Spectrum Magazine. He also works as an educator in the Hip-Hop Academy at the Riekes Center for Human Enhancement in Menlo Park, California and is an artist member of the nationwide Hip-Hop Congress organization. He also won the WWS Magazine Bay Area High School Hip-Hop Competition at Mission High School in San Francisco on March 29, 2006. He has done a variety of radio interviews and freestyles, appearing on 90.5 KSJS (San Jose State), 103.3 KSCU (Santa Clara University), and 90.1 Talk Inc. Radio. Big Murph is a driven artist determined to become a fixture in hip-hop music for years to come. Be on the lookout for his sophomore album "Unlimited Time Offer." Exclusives that will appear on that album along with songs from his debut CD can be heard on this web page.
