Diversity, endurance, ingenious, and self-determination portrays why Big Fruit is growing into such a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Born in Aberdeen, MS, Leland “Big Fruit” Clopton is the producer that has kept Mississippi underground music buzzing for the past ten years. Best known for being the creative genius who produced and wrote Mississippi’s own, Cadillac Don and J-Money’s 2005/06 smash single, “Inside Peanut Butter Outside Jelly”, the song which earned the 2006 Southern Entertainment Award for “Song of the Year”. Since then the small town prodigy has quickly become a noted producer all over the U.S. with an extensive track list including Paul Wall, Bun B, Jim Jones, Soulja Boy, Dem Franchise Boyz, 8 Ball n MJG, Tum Tum of DSR, and Yo Gotti just to name a few. Even still, Big Fruit manages to stick to his roots working with popular underground and unsigned artist such as Cash Camp, Lil’ Spreezy, Lutinent G, 3rd Flo, Young Twinn, Recognition, and many more.



Big Fruit studied Business Management at Mississippi State University, and has gained professional credit for being a sophisticated businessman. Signing himself to his own production company, B.I.G. Productions, and also co-founding his own record label, Family Ties Entertainment LLC (F.T.E.). B.I.G. and Family Ties Ent are both ran by J.R. Mckee a.k.a Young Star and operated by Mike Johnson a.k.a. Trak Guru. Songwriter/Producer, Young Star, also attended Mississippi State for Business Management; while Engineer/Producer TrakGuru attended The Art Institute of Atlanta for Audio Production. Big Fruit has frequently credited these two individuals for being brilliant at startling the line between both the creative and corporate worlds.



Family Ties Entertainment has already seen the early dawning of a superstar through Young Star’s discovery of their flagship artist, Tha Joker. Produced and developed by Big Fruit, Young Star, and Trak Guru, the now 17 year old artist, Tha Joker a.k.a Mr. Myspace.com/joker2cold, has become an icon amongst his hometown streets of Jackson, MS, as well as being an instant celebrity on Myspace.com and throughout the world. Due to his Big Fruit produced Myspace single, “Boy Shorts” ft. Soulja Boy, with nearly no radio play Tha Joker is requested and flown out almost weekly by various club owners and promoters for performances throughout the U.S.
