Big City Indians started 1997 with a very outstanding intention: mixing together contemporary music with the original heritage of native Indian sounds.
Big City Indians gripping style also impressed the music industry. They received two Native American Music Awards in 2011 & 2010 for their albums: "Tribal Vision" and "The Call Of The Canyons" handed out in Niagara Falls, New York. The Nammys are the Native American equivalent of the Grammys.
Four studio albums, some CD'Compelitions, DVD: "Live Rising Spirit" and lots of successful live shows in Europe and US are the proof for the magnetism of this concept: the band, based in Vienna, found a unique sound that has build a strong reputation and a loyal fanbase in an amazing way.
