Jameil Robinson, Big 2Da Boy was born and raised in the notorious streets of Compton California. While attending Lynwood High School, Big 2Da Boy grew up in the church as a drummer. That talent was taught by a teacher named Mr. Easton; soon after, Big 2Da Boy joined the drum squad, under Vanessa Pickens, “Untouchable High-Steppers”. Later, it was taken over by Mark Bonner, and the name was changed to “Rhythm N Motion”. Traveling around the world competing against other drill teams and drum squads, Big 2Da Boy earned many trophies; taking “Best Tenor Drum”. A few years later, Big 2Da Boy joined “Compton Sounders”, under Mrs. Skinner.



Music has always been a huge part of Big 2Da Boy’s life. With his affiliation with other activities such various sports and attending different camps through Compton’s YMCA and the Boys And Girls Homes, selling drugs and gang affiliation was never an option, a need, or a consideration by Big 2Da Boy, his sister or twin brother; thanks to the efforts of their parents . It was also around this time when Big 2Da Boy found his true calling. Inspired by Kool Moe Dee and his cousin E 2Da Ray, Big 2Da Boy was born.



Life took a tragic turn; while leaving his church, Big 2

Da Boy was ambushed and shot 6 times by a 45 cal and an AK-47. Hit at close range in his neck (once), his jaw (twice), right leg in the main artery (once), and in the back (twice). Rushed to St Francis Hospital in Lynwood, and fighting for his life, Big 2Da Boy was pronounced “dead” three times before being transferred to Kaiser Hospital in the city of Bellflower.



It is a new day. Big 2Da Boy is forever changed since that day. Seeing so much of the good a stable family can provide in any given environment, he has also witnessed at first hand the senseless violence that has made Compton world renowned.



It has been said by many artists that they just “report what they see on the streets”. In some aspects, that notion holds some truth to Big 2Da Boy. However, it is through his eyes, a true understanding dwells - where only few have been lucky enough to share. Big 2Da Boy has not only seen death face to face, he has slow-danced and French kissed it.



He has a story with many chapters that needs to be shared with every city, every community, every state, ever country. Learn why he is seen as “Compton’s Best Kept Secret; Big 2Da Boy –created by the streets, the music, and the true culture hip-hop.



Anyway, I am Compton's Best Kept Secret, representin that east Compton Fam 2Da Bam, Flossae Teflon KTK all day. I been on a few DVDs and a gang of mixtapes making my appearance known in many ways and several venues. I'll try to keep the page updated as often as possible on shows, mixtape drops, radio spots, and anything else that I may do. For example, the picture link right above this. Your boy Big is blessin some tracks with one of the original Compton bad asses from that notorious crew CMW (Compton's Most Wanted), MC Eiht. Be on the look out for that, fa real.
