BIBI GONZÁLEZ is a singer, an actress, and, she even takes photos just for the love of life and art. Born in Constitución, a neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina, under the guidance of Rafael Calzada, she learned to sing the traditional folkloric Argentine songs, accompanied by her uncles, who were all guitarists. In addition, she has recorded four CDs: "PUÑALADA" with Los Ñatos(Bs. As. 1998); "SILENCIO" with Claudio Durán (Quito 2002); "BARRO", with Bartolomé Palermo(Bs. As. - Barcelona 2004); and "CANTANDO VIVO" with the Palermo Trío(Bs. As. 2007).



In 1991, she was awarded the first prize in Theatre-Drama at the Buenos Aires Young Arts Biennial Exhibition as a writer, actress and co-director. Between 1992-95, her work included concerts in Brasil, where she appeared at both the Canela and Blumenau Festivals, as well as events in her native Argentina. During 1995, she decided to travel across Latin America armed only with her tangos and a camera. She sang in Chile, at Viña del Mar, and at the prestigious Velarde Theater in Valparaíso. In one moment, she not only opened a bar in Cuzco, Perú, but was named to host the program "MTV Afuera" for MTV-Latin America. Moving to Ecuador in 1996, where she lived until 2000, she remained active as a singer, TV actress and a model. During that time Bibi appeared for two seasons with the popular show "Cambalache" in Medellín Colombia.



In 1997, she was invited, along with Margarita Jarrín and bandoneonist Gustavo Paglia, to visit Cuba by the Guayasamín Foundation. There they played at a most special tribute to Che Guevara, as his remains were finally returned to the island. Returning to Ecuador, Bibi toured with the quartet, "Los Cosos de al Lao." 1998 saw her playing in Panamá with Raúl Sejas' tango company.



Bibi González' first trip to New York came in 1999 and she quickly became a fixture in the club circuit around the city. On October 14th, 2000, she took part in the "Guitartango" concert, at the prestigious Carnegie Hall. During the time remaining she appear regularly playing at Brooklyn's trendy "Black Betty's."



Between 2002-04, she returned to tour Ecuador twice, and then opened in Barcelona with Kika Riera, at the cultural center "La Nova Golfa," which is an alternative space for the development of the arts. It was also during these years that, HBO purchased the rights for her interpretation of the tango "Volver," which was used on the show "Real Sex.". Bibi also starred in "Fotonovela," which was a short film by Ana Fresco and Daniela Cugliandolo. In 2005, she was invited to Haifa, Israel by Dana Wegman, to present "Tango for Peace." In recent years, she has served as a correspondent and interviewed figures in the arts for various media outlets from Argentina, Chile and Ecuador. "ARGExpress" magazine has presented photographic features from many of Bibi's international travels.



Presently, Bibi González lives and works in Barcelona and Madrid, Spain where she has been singing tango, and is generally accompanied by Gustavo Battaglia and Tito Cava.

Concert appearances have recently included: FNAC, Palacio de la Virreina, Auditorio de Granollers, El Foro, La Cova del Drac, Jamboree, Bar Pastís, Auditorio Caja Madrid (Bcn) Sala Clamores (Madrid), and the Casino (Ibiza). She was invited to perform at the International Festival of Granada, Maastrich Festival; Sagunto Festival; Sweden Ecos Tango; Festival Internacional de Cine de Tarazona 2008.

At this moment, she is an integral part of the "AFTERTANGO" project, with Tito Losavio.
