Bi-2

The band was formed in Babruysk (Belarus) when two Jewish teenagers, Alexander Uman (who later became Shura) and Egor Botnik (who later became Leva) met in 1988. In the beginning of the 90s the two moved to Israel, but in 1993 Shura moved to Australia while Leva stayed and served in the Israel Defense Forces. At this time, Leva and Shure wrote music on the telephone and through the computer. In 1999, Leva came to Australia, and then together they moved to Russia and appeared on the soundtrack of the movie Brother-2. Since then they continue to work together.
