Bio

Betty Boo formed her first band The She Rockers at 16, while still attending school. The album’s success took her from West London to New York to work with the legendary Public Enemy. With their encouragement she decided to go solo before scoring a top ten hit as guest vocalist on the Beatmaster’s I Can’t Dance (To That Music You’re Playing). Her own self written and produced debut album Boomania spawned two worldwide hits with ‘Doin’ The Do’ and ‘Where Are You Baby’ securing her a Brit in 1990 for Best New Artist. The follow up ‘Grrr’ secured further worldwide acclaim not to mention the chance of a record deal with Madonna’s Maverick label. Sadly, due to personal reasons, Betty withdrew from the industry for many years but re-emerged as a sought after songwriter. She wrote Pure & Simple for Hearsay and won an Ivor Novella along the way. Betty has written for several other people including Girls Aloud. She is currently working on a new Betty Boo album and the new single Take Off Jack Rokka vs Betty Boo has achieved No.1 MW and DMC club chart positions! The single is released in early October.
