UN FRENCH SONGWRITER AU PARCOURS ATYPIQUE.
Après avoir entrainé à Roland Garros et sur le circuit WTA les meilleures joueuses du tennis Français, écrit des chansons pour des artistes tels que Natasha St-Pier, Steeve Estatof, Tina Arena ou encore Christophe Maé, Olivier Béranger décide de consacrer tout son temps à la musique suite à sa sélection aux "Rencontres d’Astaffort" 2005. L’association Voix du Sud, à l’initiative de Francis Cabrel, organise depuis 15 ans des ateliers d’écriture d’une semaine, encadrés par des professionnels, session parrainée cette année-là par Cali.
Depuis, il a sorti un 5 titres (2005: "Un toit à moi" / 3ème au classement francophone des radios), puis un album (2007:"La terre est en colère") qui lui permettra entre autres d’assurer quelques premières parties (JeHan, Dick Annegarn, Daniel Lavoie, Laurent Voulzy, Duo Grim).
En novembre 2008, après plus de 200 concerts et show cases, Olivier est de nouveau appelé par "Voix du Sud", cette fois-ci pour peaufiner ses propres chansons dans le cadre des "Rencontres Répertoires".
Cette semaine de résidence ouvre la voie à un suivi professionnel de 2 ans.
Installé à Marseille, BERANGER nous présente son nouveau projet:"88". UN DOUBLE ALBUM (français et anglais) entièrement joué, enregistré et réalisé à DEUX avec la complicité de Cédric Moulié rencontré à Astaffort en 2005.
En mai 2009, l’équipe est renforcée par l’arrivée d’une "manageuse" qui travaille actuellement au développement de l’artiste sur scène àtravers la mise en place d'une série de concerts dans des LIEUX TOTALEMENT INEDITS .
La tournée du projet 88 porte déjà un bien joli nom: "UN TOUR SUR TERRE"

A SAILOR ON THE ROAD
The french singer songwriter Olivier Béranger already lived several lives.
It seems he always perfomed on stage.
First, with a racket in his hand, and then with his guitar !
He used to travel all around the world as a professional tennis coach (Andrew Ilie, Nathalie Dechy…), playing songs every Wednesday night during the famous "Player’s party" of each tournament.
So, he sang almost everywhere …in New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Bahia, London, Montreal and even during the "Olympic games" in Sydney !!!
At night, he was writing and recording songs on his computer, sending his work in France.
That’s how he wrote for a lot of stars in his country (Tina Arena, Natasha St-Pier, Petula Clark or Christophe Maé).
After a while, Olivier felt natural to quit sport, and to start writing and composing his own material.
He remembered his first dream, when he was a student in acting classes in Paris (Cours Florent, Jack Garfein’s Actor’s studio), reading biographies of the songwriters who influenced him :
Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tracy Chapman, Leonard Cohen or Lou Reed…and so many others !!!
In 2005 , he spent a 10 days session in Francis Cabrel’s workshop in Astaffort.
The most american of the french songwriters encouraged Olivier to sing and to make his albums.
Since BERANGER played more than a hundred and fifty times all over France and Europe, alone with his guitar and harmonica, or with his band.
His first LP ( "Un toit à moi") reached rank n° 3 on french radios, and his album "La terre est en colère" reached rank n°7 on the same radios.
He played two concerts (sold out !!!) in the famous
"Sentier des halles" in Paris.
And he sang last winter, opening for the french star Laurent Voulzy.
Actually, he’s working on his next album: 88. In french, and… in english, following his dream…and the steps of the giants he always loved : american songwriters.This project was totally recorded and played with the young producer: CEDRIC MOULIE.
Today, you can find his music on BELIEVE (i.Tunes store , Virgin etc.), the leading digital distributor of independent artists and labels in EuropeBand labels in Europe.
