The Bright Young Things began as Benjamin M. Smith. Benjamin's been writing and performing folk-y, country-y pop music for a long time now with and without bands. For his solo EP If You Will , he enlisted the six-stringed stylings of Tyler Bubenik, and a nascent creative partnership was formed. For a time, the band was simply a backing band for Benjamin's material, but as it grew, Benjamin's ego caved. Now we're just the Bright Young Things. With other musicians (who thought they were too cool to keep living in Chicago) leaving, the band was whittled down, but now with recent addition of Kate Grube on the funky 88, we're ready to blast your faces off with the folk-pop.



Come party with us at a show. We probably like you. If you're not sure if we like you, write a note with "Yes, No or Maybe" boxes to check. We will definitely check one of them. Kate will probably be in charge of this.
