Benita Farmer Music

Philadelphia, PA The lights are bright. The band is in full intro. The crowd is screaming. Her heart is pounding. The music races through her head, merely split seconds before she walks on, andACTION!! This scenario has become a familiar reality for one of Philadelphias (now Delran, NJs) finest and increasingly sought after performers. Not only is she a great performer, but Benita Farmer is a performer of the gospel! Her 2003 independent, local summer release of her album titled Not Alone alerted listeners of her presence. But it was not until September 27th of that year, when Philadelphias internationally renowned Freedom Theater hosted her official debut concert, that fans truly got an in your face taste of Benita Farmer, live!



Benita has vowed to continuously keep God first in her life without compromise. Her love for the word of God stems to the deepest roots love knows. It does not matter what stage or what crowd, she will sing with hopes of someones life being changed in a way that they know that God is their source for everything that they need. She proved her commitment when she was chosen as a new artist feature for the world famous Black Lily Production in Philadelphia; the five-year open mic venue started by award-winning MCA recording artists, The Jazzyfatnastees. (The Black Lily is claim to fame for artists such as Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, India.Aarie, Kindred and many more.) Her awesome performance captured the attention of representatives from Clearchannel, magazines, and musicians such as guitarist Rich Tucker (Floetry, Kindred, Jill Scott etc.). Soon after, she received the vocal support of gospel music mogul Dr. Bobby Jones, quoting Benita is a rare gospel artist that all should be aware of and support. Shes first class in my book!



So whats next for Benita? EVERYTHING! After completing a string of performances from January through May, the summer is booking quickly for her. With venues such as a sold out colleges and universities, a four day national conference in Inglewood, CA, a live concert at her church, interviews, spot dates and promotional appearances, Benita Farmer is definitely a hard working woman in the business. On top of her hectic schedule, she also teaches music at Camden High School in Camden, NJ and serves as 5 year Minister of Music at her home church, Faith Tabernacle which is also in Camden, NJ.
