Beatz are my specialty. Whatever kind of beat you need, I can make. Recording and mixing down a final product is no challenge for me either. Holla At'cha Boy for some beatz or some cutz of groups I've produced. Here shortly I will put some stuff up.
Why this name?
A long time ago we all sat down wondering "what should we call our production company?" We decided to call it Beat It Up Productions cuz it has multiple meaningz. Beat It Up in the trunk with some thump, kicking some ass, and when someone takes a lady home we say "Beat It Up"haha.
Do you play live?
Tru Dimensions is the main group I work with. We used to perform live all the time but we had to stop doin that for awhile to work on an album. Most of the time we perform in Des Moines and Newton. We"ve also done some stuff in Iowa City, Knoxville, Marshalltown, Olwein, and Soiux City. Music is all we got and we love doin it. We're never gonna stopalwayz on our grind. We've had a few special moments involving our music. For example, we had a chance to get our Superman Return songz on the new Superman movie, but the composer wanted an orchestrated film score. Don't blame them cuz all the other movies had orchestra's do the music. Both the actor who played Superman and us are from Iowa, and the girl who sings with Tru Dimensions happens to be a friend of his, so that's how all that came about.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
My opinion is that it makes it easier for the underground gruops to get their name out there like what we are tryin to do. Not sure about the whole industry, It's probly harder for the record company to make money when people just download the music they want for free instead of going out and paying for the record.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course. Who wouldn't. I would love to make beatz for signed artists on a major record label. Right now I love makin beatz for unknown artists cuz it's all original. That's what I think people really want to hear. After awhile mainstream music all starts to sound the same.
Your influences?
Dr. Dre, 2 Pac, Kanye West, Eminem, Swiss Beatz, Biggy.Those are just a few, there's just to damn many to name'em all off.
Favorite spot?
My favorite city is Des Moines, IADMI!!!! My favorite spot is mos def the studio, that's where you'll alwayz find me, Grindin.
