Beati Mortui was formed at year 2005 in Helsinki, Finland.
During winter 2006 and spring 2007 band selfproduced and released their first 6-song promotional cd called Modus Operandi. Due to great response on field, good success on Sonic Seducer's Battle of The Bands 2007 as receiving second position and winning the Finnish "Darkest song of the Fall" song competition, Beati Mortui was happy to sign a record deal for Danse Macabre early 2008.
Band released their first full-length album "All But Dreams Will Die" in May 2008 which lead to numerous positive reviews, interviews and stories in magazines and media around europe. Album also ended up in bullets of german DAC alternative charts and got heavy DJ rotation in european alternative club scene.
Soon after the release they performed live in world's largest gothic gathering The Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig Germany. Their first live appearance at WGT was followed by their first live show in Finland's biggest gothic festival Lumous in Tampere. After that they were to warmup one of the bands they admire in the dark electro genre Hocico at their original home city Helsinki, in August 2008.
In October 2008 Beati Mortui started their first european tour in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands as a supporter for another big influence for them Das Ich with another german/greek act, InLine.seX.Terror. In December the band continued their tour with Das Ich in Spain for two shows in Madrid and Barcelona.
After touring at 2009 Beati Mortui started preparing and composing new material for their second album released in May 2010. The newest album "Let The Funeral Begin" is surely a giant leap from the debut in all aspects considering compositions, arrangements, production, style and also surprises as these are expected too from this unique band hailing from Finland.
Newest album "Let The Funeral Begin" has gained numerous extremely positive reviews from press around Europe. Album also has got great feedback from the field, audience and from DJ's around globe. It appeared 8 weeks (the maximum time!) in the German DAC Charts TOP 10, which is the main charts for alternative music in Germany. It also visited other charts like GEWC shortly after its release.
