The Goodgreef and Fire It Up ‘The Mental Unit’ Sunday May 4th 2008 is a dedication to Barry, and for our loyal crowd to have a night the way he would have had it is the best way of honouring his memory.



We will be observing a minute’s applause at 0400 after a brief announcement



The last hour of this event will be a special tribute to Barry; we will be playing his Radio 1 Essential Mix, in the ‘Fire It Up main ward’ recorded live from Inside out at the Arches, Glasgow 12th April 2008



We thank you for your understanding in this difficult matter and hope you can join us in celebrating Barry’s life with a party he would be proud of.

THE JUDGEMENT CLOSING PARTY - IT WAS AMAZING!!!



Never in a million years would I dreamed I would have been playing the

closing party of the world famous judgement sunday party in Ibiza! After

Lisa Lashes, Myself and good pal and wicked DJ Shan were asked to finish the

night off. what can I say! it was amazing! The atmosphere was unbelieable

and the crowd were really up for it! They didnt want to go home and the

chants of ONE MORE TUNE rang round the club! Infact, we played an hour

longer than we should have done! Thanks for everyone who came to support me on the night, and a big up to the Scottish Boys who came wearing t-shirts

with my name spashed across them! ha, Quality! Hope everyone enjoyed

themselves as much as me!

DJ BARRY CONNELL



At the tender age of 23 Barry is Scotland’s fasting rising DJ and has started to take the dance scene by storm. After winning Simon Foy’s Beat 106 DJ competition in Scotland he quickly secured a residency at local night Pulse.



2003 saw a rapid rise in Barry’s profile with vast interest shown in England. Goodgreef were the first club to show interest with Barry providing an excellent debut, resulting in repeat bookings at all their events across the country. Their team describes Barry as ‘technically superb & versatile,’ and with the likes of Eddie Halliwell, Adam Sheridan, Shan, Alex Kidd and Tylor-Leigh recently maturing from their stable, who is to argue?



Next to follow were Bristol based Scream. Barry’s greatest achievement to date was his debut at the world the famous Creamfields Festival in Liverpool. Word of this performance traveled fast with clubs like Passion, Garlands, Frantic, Wildchild, Essence and Frisky all giving Barry dates. Back home in Scotland interest also grew locally resulting in Barry’s debut at Scotland’s finest club, Inside Out.



2004 has seen Barry play alongside Eddie Halliwell, Fergie, John 00 Fleming, Mark Norman, Montana and Matt Hardwick to name but a few… He has also finished the year in fine style by being named Goodgreef’s new resident. 2005 saw Barry perform at superclubs Escape, Inside Out, Wildchild to name but a few and also at a series of Eddie Halliwell’s BOSH live parties…



So with 2006 underway, Barry has already played at Dance Academy and Goodgreef, smashing it every time with his unique, skilled performances! He is now getting ready to perform along side Eddie Halliwell and Tylor-Leigh at Eddie’s massive ‘FIRE IT UP’ event in Ireland, along side some international names at the Leeds Love Parade, and more recently being chosen to perform alongside Matt Hardwick and Lisa Lashes at this years Judgement Sunday closing party in Ibiza! So as his profile continues to grow and he continues to be Scotland’s most loved and talked about DJ, Barry Connell is about to become a familiar name on everyone’s lips!
