"What I like about the Barnstormers is their versatility. They play so many instruments and have the ability to create a beautiful mood."

-Kodac Harrison KodacHarrison.com

"Barnstormers is an undiscovered gem of the south; a spooky cocktail of gothic americana and southern swing that will take you for a ride on pure raw emotion, and then leave you for dead at the mercy of hangovers and heartbreak. The honesty, ingenuity, and sheer creepiness of the guitar and cello duo will raise the hair on your arms and wrench your heart."

-Sarah Norris BloodOnTheBluegrass.com

"The Barnstormers give traditional country moxie with their whip-smart lyrics and bold live shows. This band takes eclectic instruments from sitar and accordions to cellos and harmonicas to pull together a haunting and familiar sound. The Potent combination of Ronnie's songwriting and Chris' accompaniment are tempting like a good old fashioned game of russian roulette."

"'I'm leaving you behind tonight' sings Ronald Moore over brush-beaten train engine rhythms, two-part vocal harmonies, and the jazzy puff of a New Orleans-style brass section. "Magdalena," off of Graveyard Town by Alabama's Barnstormers, is an irresistible pairing of melody and rhythm that reaches a truly original culmination when a sitar and tabla drum are thrown into the mix. Nothing quite says Alabama like traditional Indian instrumentation. "

Multi-instrumentalist Chris Wilson is hiervoor verantwoordelijk.

".To be honest, you probably wont like Barnstormers because if you're like most people, the utter creepiness of Barnstormers and the intentional anti-sweet-as-honey vocal stylings of Mr. Moore do tend to inspire heebie jeebies and the sense that you've heard this kind of music in a dream you had once about an empty carnival and a very sad clown. But if you can listen past the plunking of the lonely guitar and the sorrowful confessions of this off-kilter hodge-podge of misfits and gypsies, you'll find a true treasure buried in their lyrics and their message."

- Mrs. Graves @ The Graves Family Plots

Listening to Barnstormers’ newest album Graveyard Town is like marching through the streets in the early 1900’s to a grave site with your name on it. The album progresses like a funeral, with the music both celebrating life and commiserating death. With an old time jangle and a tension that could rival the quiet hush before a cowboy shootout, Ronnie Moore’s melancholic croon is juxtaposed by Chris Wilson’s booming growl like he made a deal with the devil and won his pipes. Maybe he got a sweet deal and got his hands, too, as Wilson plays a number of different instruments on every song, from guitar to cello to keyboard, and really, anything else he can get. They’ll be performing this Saturday in Montevallo, AL, and if you like them, write a letter to your local representative and get them playing in your town. (That means you Birmingham). As this vid shows, they bring so much passion and enthusiasm to their music and their performances, it’d be a shame to miss out.: - Rebecca Seung @ Tip the Band
