In the 2009 alone she sang, danced and toured with Malawi/London based group The Very Best (featuring London DJ duo Radioclit and Malawi singer Esau Mwamwaya) on their SXSW dates. She later accompanied them on their American tour dates all with a broken leg! Kam Franklin fronts Houston reggae band Heptic Skeptic and country band The Umbrella Man. She is also one of the MC’s for the Houston Dubstep movement Gritsy and in her spare time moonlights with dozens of rappers, bands, and singing groups. After winning the 2009 Houston Press Music Award for best R&B,she took a brief break to recover from her leg surgery. Now that she is fully recovered, Kam Franklin will be spending all of 2010 recording a full length and working on her other projects.
