Born and raised in Southeast Jamaica, Queens, "Badlands" Booker has always had hip hop flowing thru his veins, and spent much of his early years rhyming under the moniker "Big Hulk". Teamed up with his good friend since childhood Keith "Da Vultcha" Thomas, we built a studio called "The Pitt", and got a bunch of East New York Brooklyn's hottest underground hip hop talent and started making and shopping demos, Performing at Open Mic sessions such as the Lyricist Lounge, and doing Wednesday night showcases at CBGB's. One of the highlights of my early rap career was doing a promo for NY's Hot 97 Radio late night Air Personality "Curt Flirt" (which the Vultcha produced). Then in 1997 I took some time off from the Hip Hop game to pursue another sport, Competitive Speed Eating.

So after a not so long hiatus to get into competitive eating, in 2003, with the help of producer/musician Julian Maile (Loser's lounge, Rent, Spray Paint Star) I Decided to heat up my pen and continue to pursue my hip hop career in a very innovative way by creating a new genre called "Competitive Eating Themed Hip Hop", and recording what would be Hip Hop's first competitive eating themed album. On July 4th. 2004, Hungry & Focused was released with ovelwelming praise from the competitive eating community. tracks like "The Sweet Science" and the "All Day Buffet" recieved critical acclaim, and rocked crowds in the competitive eating community from a few hundred to crowds as large as 50,000! During the Christmas Season of 2004, "Hungry & Focused" was officially the number 1 selling product in the IFOCE online store!

The apparent sucess of the 1st. album has inspired me to do 3 more Competitive Eating Themed Albums "Hungry & Focused II - The Ingestion Engine", "Hungry & Focused III - The Reframing", "Hungry and Focused IV - Fork, knife, & Mic" and a greatest hits album "The Best of Hungry & Focused" from 2005-2009. Also, Badlands Booker's latest CD "Extended Play" will drop July 4th. 2009 (all albums are available on iTunes, and your favorite online music store worldwide) in addition to booking show dates and performing at eating contests so that not only the eating fans can get Hungry and Focused, but the rest of America as well!

Ya Boy Badlands is staying on his grind! in addition to this being my 12 year on the competitive eating circuit, I will be working on expanding the Hungry & Focused empire by adding Hungry & Focused apparel, Hungry & Focused TV (www.youtube.com/badlandsbooker), and many more so look forward to that. Thanks everyone for your support, and whatever you do in life, stay Hungry & Focused. Peace & Love y'all, God bless

-Badlands.
