BIOGRAPHY OF JAHIANT
My first impression of Jahiant is as most peoples, surprised and intrigued. Jahiant commands attention standing all of 5'3" tall. His presence can be felt immediately when he walks into the room. Jahiant was born oldest of five children in Port More Jamaica.
From a very young age he chose to surround himself with musicians and the music industry. He appeared on stage for the first time at the age of 13 during a talent show held in Gregory Park, Port More. He did not bring home the prize or a trophy but a star was born that day.

Port More Jamaica is known for its rough streets, a tough place to grow up for any youth. Rising above social restrains and poverty Jahiant has taken his life's experiences and put them into a musical awareness. Within his lyrics you will find TRUTH, WISDOM, CREATVITY AND a TECHNICAL GENEIS, filtering all his emotions and memories into his creative writing and beats.

Jahiant quickly realized the free spirits of music, at the age 16 immigrating to Canada, soon after he joined a black and white all male Hip Hop band called The "Halfsizegiants."
Markland Campbell aka "Jahiant" writes, produces and sings all his own music. A true master with lyrics, he can be found delivering a message to those willing to open there minds and absorb his wisdom. Even though he never really had any formal vocal training, his voice is fresh, crisp, and desirable a unique find.

He told me in a recent interview that he prefers to jam and record to a live band. It gives him a sense of unity and collaboration. He is often asked by fellow artists to join him at venues and on albums to promote his gift of sound and to bring his controversial message to the people.
His natural charisma on stage Jahiant can bring his audience to their knees, with passionate words and soulful rhythms uplifting your spirit to new highs of awareness and bringing you on a musical journey.

This man sees the veil over society eyes and pledge to remove it with his music; overcoming constant racial oppression, and harassment.
Jahiant found a way to bring these difficult issues to the fore front and stand behind his words.

My nerves get the best of me at times but once I step out on the stage, the feelings disappear and a blanket of joy combines with a rush of energy covers me, and I feel alive" my body my soul cries out when I see my audience connecting with me I get a surge to perform at my best and keep giving more and more!" Jahiant, Sept 2010

Jahiant ready to deliver his powerful message, this native Jamaican has the right attitude and drive to go the distance and succeed in the pursuit of his dreams. "It's only natural that any artist who has been in the industry as long as Jahiant, knows the negative feedback it is just as good as positive, if not better. And that a musical career takes dedication, persistence and a very thick skin time before all my hard work and time will pays off. I will reach my goals and fulfil my destiny." Jahiant, Sept 2010

Jahiant is no stranger to the stage he has entertain audiences for the last decade across North America and around the Island of Jamaica. Winning a few awards in the year 2000; and working with such artists as KRS one, Junior Reid, Cardinal Official, Julie Black, Snow, Ken Booth, Ghost, Dream Warriors and Admiral Tibet, Lords of the Under Ground just to name a few. Jahiant has appeared on TV Programs such as MUCH MUSIC, hosting Rap City and Extend-mix with Master T. He can be seen in interviews with CNN, MTV, YTV and CBC.

Now In 2010 Jahiant takes a stab at a solo career. No doubt this "Halfsizegiants" will be heard all over the world in the next coming years!
JAHIANT is one artist you don't want to miss!!!!
