As a child, he sang in his church and school choirs, dreaming of one day sharing his gift with the world. In 1995, Baby Downn along with relatives, formed a Hip-hop rap group, known as Brownzville. It was then that he decided to formulate that childhood dream to reality, where in his aunt's garage (the infamous Gee'Rage) he began working at his craft and embracing the inevitable. Originally, he was appointed to create and sing the hooks for the group but was soon writing and rapping his own verses. They released their first single, Breezin', in 1998. The song was a hit and reached communities worldwide, including the U.S., Samoa, New Zealand and Australia. In 2000, the group released their debut album titled, Bust Yo Eye, which displayed Baby Downn's extraordinary diverse talents, as a writer, singer and rapper. He is featured on the records of several mainstream artists such as Boo Yaa Tribe and Transplant as well as overseas artists, Aaradhna and Mareko. Downn has also blessed the tracks of countless indie artists. He is a performer by nature, entertaining the stages of Hollywood's House of Blues, Long Beach's Mai Tai, and New Zealand's world famous annual festival Pasifika, just to name a few.
