Aztech(short for Aziatic Techniques) was born in South Carolina then shortly after moved to Lynn Massachusetts and was raised throughout the north shore of Boston MA by his mother, a strong independent Korean women new to the United States. Aztech's upbringing from day one was completley submersed in Hip Hop culture. Aztech originally entered the Hip Hop world as a B-Boy part of the B-Boy crew TBA at age 13 highly influenced by the Boom Bap era of Hip Hop brought up with artists such as Rakim, Kool G Rap and Wu-Tang. At age 14 Aztech would begin to write and record his first of many demo tapes in a friends basement and battling other Mc's in school and quickly earning his spot as an MC during a time when it wasn't the cool thing to do, especially for an asian kid. Aztech was then introduced to a handful of MC's throughout the North Shore and became part of a Hip Hop collective known as Divine Rhyme. Divine Rhyme would go on to release a mixtape which flooded the North Shore and slowly began to grow throughout Massachusetts. Shortly after Aztech would go on to form the group Hybrid Thoughts which was made up of members of Divine Rhyme. along with HT he began performing massive amounts of shows and gaining expierence as a live performer. The group would later go on to release a 9 track EP which included the song "Redemption" which would be featured on the film "Dante's Salvation" and the soundtrack to the film. Things were starting to look up but due to various reasons the group would go there separate ways to pursue different endeavors. Aztech bounced around from group to group recording songs and doing shows throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Michigan. It was then Aztech would take a near two year hiatus which included marriage and divorce. With many people wondering what happened to him (being one of the original Mc's in the North Shore) Aztech would storm back with his first solo project(finally) "Revolutionary Ruins" which was released under the production label VikingLike LTD. The album did fairly sound sales throughout New England and Aztech began storming the live scene. Now in his mid twenties Aztech has released a solo album, two sucessful solo mixtapes "In Due Time" and "The Dusty Stereo" and also has been part of various mixtapes and featured on various albums with artists throughout Boston and has shared the stage with artists such as M.O.P., Canibus, Jedi Mind Tricks, RA The Rugged Man, Esham, Cage, Sean Price and more, performing in front of crowds of 17,000, as well as collaborating with some underground heavyweights. Aztech feels rappers nowadays are mostly made up of overnight purists, cats who have only been rhyming a few years and consider themselves vets, while Aztech has been doing this long before it became a fad. Tech along with his peoples continue to make the highest effort to make sure the golden era is not forgotten and overlooked by the swarm of the adolescent minded generation that stands before us today.
