Ayana D., aka. Ayana Del Valle, is a dynamic vocal entertainer whose soulful voice, sparkling personality and signature, “Urban Latin Soul”, musical style is creating a roaring buzz throughout the US and Caribbean. Her highly anticipated debut album (yet to be titled) is set to be released this Summer of 2011 and will include her hypnotizing R&B hit single, “Destiny”, the infectious club House track, “Forever”, and her inspiring power-ballad and most personal song written to date, “Free and Alive” featuring Miss D. on piano. While often described as the “Latina Alicia Keys” for similarities such as playing the piano, songwriting, having musical educational backgrounds (Ayana D. has a Bachelor of Music degree from the Conservatory of Music at Purchase College, SUNY, in Vocal Jazz Performance), and having a “glamorous, yet down-to-earth vibe,” Ayana D. sets herself apart by representing her jazz and Puerto Rican/Afro-Caribbean roots. You can hear this in her music as she sings in Spanish and English (as featured in “Destiny”), uses Latin percussion in her instrumentation, and in her vocal harmonies and improvisations. Some compare her scatting abilities to that of the late, great “First Lady of Song”, Ella Fitzgerald.
