And Then There Was Sound -Opus 1 Movement 1

In my former life, I recall a distinct moment when I began to hear. There was always the chatter, the white noise, the worry, fear, doubt, and the presence of the void. But by some miracle, a higher frequency cut through the mire, unphased and reverberating. At first, it was a distant choir of stars from behind the thunder. Then, they swallowed the rumble whole, and their voices were inside me. My hair stood up on end (enter strings). I looked around to see if anyone noticed (.2, 3, 4, 5- odd meter), but they all looked straight ahead (french horns swell). My hair began to blow (cue woodwinds), and I raised my hands. the symphony obeyed. I was controlling it. The thrill of lucidity rushed my pulse, but I kept them steady. I couldn't catch my breath, but I held them steady. Then one voice (solo) sang me her dream from the future come back (retrograde bar) to tell me, "REVERSE THE SPELL, you are in control" (tutti) "REVERSE THE SPELL, m a y a a y a m" (caesura).
Skip ahead.
I was born four years ago, in a tiny apartment on Park Drive. The roar of the Red Sox fans pushed through the walls as my stardust settled. Underneath a metal loft on a blue striped rug, I rocked back and forth to the sound of my own sobbing, shhhh (piano). When there were no more tears, I opened my eyes, and I began to see. A nebula takes time to birth a star, (accelerando, accelerando) and by the time we see the newborn she's already grown. But, when the light hits our eyes, we'll never be the same. Might I suggest some shades?
