Axis Aurora

Dear Friends,



As you may or may not have heard, Axis Aurora will be splitting up for good on Friday, March 30th. We will be closing our five year musical run that night at the MHS Battle of the Bands at 7pm. We have decided to stop due to personal preferences. A band is only a band when they can work well together, and enjoy each other. After five years of playing music with best friends, each of us have begun to branch out on the music which we write and play, and on the styles and even instruments we prefer. Though I would not suggest it was a fully joint decision, it is only fair to my band mates that I respect their wishes, and thus willingly leave the band along with them.

In basic terms, the reason this is all happening is because we were slowly losing interest in playing the songs we play. The wonderful job of writing songs slowly became a process for us, and we feel as though if you cannot have passion in what you are doing, there is very little point in doing it.

I speak for all of us when I say we have each put our hearts and souls into every song we have written, and the words you sing, and every performance we have ever given. We have had amazing experiences together that will never leave our minds, and you have all been a part of many of them. The feelings we are able to have because of each of you at our shows have been the best feelings in the world, and I cannot stress enough how much I will miss it.

For our show on the 30th we will be playing songs which have sentimental values to us- meaning the songs that make all of you jump. While we will be playing a few covers, we will no doubt be playing the songs we have written such as Dark Matter. The rush I get when I see you singing the chorus along with us is amazing, and I pray to you that you will all come to support us and sing along one last time.



I love you all- we love you all, and I speak on behalf of the band when I say thank you for everything you have ever done for us. We look forward to rocking out with you one more time, and with your help it will be a show to remember.

Axis Aurora



Axis Aurora (formerly known as Odd Man Out) has been a crowd favorite throughout the Nashoba Valley area since their formation four years ago in 2002. The three members of the band - Nick Cardone on guitar and vocals, Ryan Axford on drums, and Rob Grove on bass - share a passion for music which comes through loud and clear in every performance. Equally skilled at both songwriting and performing, the bands crowning achievement came in 2005 when they won the Battle of the Bands competition at Indian Hill Music Center in Littleton, MA. As winners of the competition, they were awarded 8 hours of recording time at Blue Jay Studios in Carlisle (www.bluejaystudio.com), owned in part by Kevin Richardson. The prize also included the services of Blue Jays professional recoding engineers. Along with the recording, the band received mixing time from Grammy Nominated Mixing Engineer David Moulton, with help from eight-time Grammy Winning Sound Engineer Tom Bates. Other achievements include placing 1st at the Groton-Dunstable Battle of the Bands in 2003, headlining various local shows, and opening for larger, well known bands at The Compound in Fitchburg, Ma. With each performance, Axis Aurora continues to solidify their reputation as one of the most popular bands in the area. And with intricate, catchy guitar riffs, complex bass lines and quick, powerful beats, Axis Aurora has no trouble presenting enormous shows and pleasing the entire crowd.
