Axis Historical
Axis was formed in the eve of 2003 by Steven Blackwell and Jason Doherty, with the single purpose of creating a project with meaning, motivation and endurance. A musical monolith to carry the voice of those dissatisfied with the world around them and the contrived voices of mankinds existence. As the project got
underway, new members were added to fill in the final pieces. Hand chosen for their drive and ambition. Just
as each line of the Axis originates from a different path than the next, each member is forged from different backgrounds allowing the music to incorporate unique blends of synth pop, industrial, punk, noise, fodder, and gothic into one massive project. Over the past few years Axis has gained more fans through playing shows in their home town of Tulsa and other areas of the midwest. They self released their first full length CD titled Death & Rebirth with 14 tracks. Newly reformed with Brittany Herman, Steven is the only original member. Axis is working hard to put out their 2nd album 23 Degrees, due out this summer, and followed by a tour. With Steven’s programming, producing and live sound experience, and Brittany's versatile vocals this should prove to be a worth while album.
Axis has opened for visiting larger acts such as Slick Idiot, Kill Hannah, Haujobb, Thrill Kill Kult, Dismantled, Psyclon 9, Ego Likeness, Attrition, High Blue Star, Armageddon Dildos, Inertia, God Module, Apocalypse Theatre, Mercury Mad, Harsh Reality, Beyond Hope, Gravity Euphonic, and Mankind is Obsolete.
They have played with several local artists including Pittersplatter, God in a Machine, Secret Post, Sever the Feeling, Oblyvaeon and Lillum. They have done remixes for Cyanotic and Hatred Hurt Itself.
