A Vision Grotesque

A Vision Grotesque has exemplified the word "progression" since it's original inception sometime in 2004. The band's music in it's current incarnation is the result of what happens when a group of musicians work outside the sphere of influence of a scene or any preconceived notions of what is acceptable or what will gain it any real or imagined success. Although there has been no lack of critical acclaim for the music as a whole, having appeared on numerous DVDs, compilations, and having released three albums in the past five years, with two seeing worldwide distribution through independent labels, and having won various online "competitions", great zine reviews both foreign and domestic, and so on, the band has never been content to stay in one place or one mindset for any extended length of time, opting instead to continue to evolve through constant change of stylistic approach, and continuing to apply a fierce sense of independence and militant work ethic towards achieving the apogee that is creative freedom.
. The type of freedom that only comes from knowing that nothing is real and everything is transient. These are the themes that flow through A Vision Grotesque's music, from the lyrical content that touches on subjects that truly are food for thought, rather than an attempt at exaggerated masculinity, to the exercises in counterpoint that comprises the guitar work and beyond, and always with a good dose of humor, because let's face it, art imitates life, and often, the human condition is rather laughable.
