Astaroth was formed in the summer of 2005, in Visalia, CA. By remaining original members, Steven Broyles(ex-Terrah), Alex "Hoss" Perez(ex-Satori), and Sean Sena(ex-Ashen sonnet). With guitarist Mike Valenzuela, and Mike Perez(both ex-Ashen sonnet), closing out the line-up. All of them had one goal in mind, to counter act the explosion of "deathcore" and "metalcore" bands, with pure oldschool deathmetal. Heavy, fast paced, and plently of well thought out guitar work, Astaroth was formed to keep real metal alive. After numerous complications, Astaroth lost guitarist Mike Perez(no relation to Hoss), and Anthony Perez( Hoss' younger brother) stepped up to fill the spot, at only 16. After a bit more writing, and a few shows, Chris Albert(ex-Terrah) took on the challenge of recording Astaroth's first three song demo. After its release, Astaroth kept on a steady schedule of shows, and constantly writing new material, when complications arose again, and Astaroth parted ways with guitarist, and long time good friend, Mike Valenzuela. Being faced with no replacement, and a long line-up of shows in the months to come. Astaroth decided the only person capable to fill the spot on such short notice would have to be Chris Albert. He filled in for a couple months, playing shows, and even writing new material, before Astaroth was able to find a permanent replacement in Anthony Perez's long time friend Jared Oliphant(at age 17). Astaroth now had there current line-up and felt they finally had the talent they needed to finish up writing there second release. Again they looked to Chris Albert. After disagreements with other studios, Chris took over. Astaroth completed there second 5 song release in the winter of 07' which is currently up on this page. Astaroth is still, and always writing new material that is a step above there previous accomplishments. Staying true to the roots of death metal, and staying away from the breakdown oriented metalcore we all have come to relate with deathmetal. In the future Astaroth looks to push their 07' demo to any and every label that will listen in hopes to bring back what has been lost.
