Nurtured by his small town, southern upbringing, and influenced by some of the most prolific musical artists from the last century, Ashe Watson, an Alabama native, is one of the most promising and talented up and coming musicians in the music industry. He attributes his distinctive songwriting ability to spending time with his uncle, Brandon Barnes, a Grammy nominated songwriter, who is credited for some of Brian McKnights biggest hits, such as Anytime, One Last Cry, and Never Felt This Way. Ashe also attributes much of his vocal ability to working with Brian McKnight himself and being in the studio when Barnes and Mcknight worked there “magic”. Ashes musical talents were evident in his early childhood, playing trumpet in his churches orchestra and learning harmonies from singing in the choir. Additionally, Ashes grandfather, a voice coach and high school choir teacher for forty-five years also played an integral part in molding Ashe into the phenomenally talented artist that he is today. Now, at age twenty-four, it is no wonder that Ashes abilities prospered interacting with a family that placed such a high premium on music. Almost ten years ago, Ashe made the decision to capitalize on his talents and dedicate his life to his one and only passion: music. Not only is Ashe an amazing vocalist, he is a multifaceted musician in every sense of the word. In addition to composing his own lyrics, he is an accomplished pianist, guitarist, and percussionist. In 2006, Ashe's talent for songwriting landed him a major deal with Rondor/Universal music publishing. He was immediately put into the studio with Harvey Mason Jr and Damon Thomas formally of the production group “The Underdogs”. Harvey Mason Jr has been one of the biggest influences to date on Ashes songwriting. So many artists have served as inspiration to Ashe including 112, Boyz II Men, Gino Vannelli, Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Tower of Power, Take6, Fred Hammond, and Commissioned. The timeless and classic work of James Taylor inspired Ashe to learn and become a self-taught guitarist. Ashe has worked with other producers such as Brian Michael-Cox, Jazzy Pha, Jonathon “JR” Rotem, Stereotypes, Brian Mcknight and Timbaland just to name a few. Ashe is currently in the process of writing and recording his own album as well as writing for some of the biggest names in music.
