Born in London, England in 1965, Niles "Asheber" Hailstones is a Multi-Talented Musician, Producer and Workshop leader in the 'Edutainment' mould. His Debut Solo Album "Time Traveller - Returning Thru The Door Of No Return" is an eclectic yet seamless mixture of the music of the African diaspora, and features some of the best musicians on the International and UK scene including: Pee Wee Ellis (The JB's) Tunde Jegede, Winston (Saxton) Rose, Derek (Musicalist) Johnson, Adesose Wallace, Anthony (Drumtan) Ward and the late great Egyptian Master- flautist Maher Khairy.

Niles started playing Trumpet in the late 80s with various local bands, mainly in the West London area. These included: Inflight,Wisdom, and the Black Jazz Orchestra. By the beginning of the ’90s, he was a member of veteran Roots Reggae group Misty In Roots, with whom he traveled to Africa on three occasions (Zimbabwe 1990, Sierra Leone 1991 and Ghana 1994).

These journeys were to prove formative for the artist’s future work and vision….

Whilst embarking on the journey to Ghana in ’94, he visited the old Slave ports and Castles of Cape Coast & Elmina and received his rites of passage "Returning Thru The Door Of No Return" with Nana Okofu of the 'One Africa' Organisation.

It was during this important musical period that he also became an original member of Old School British Hip Hop groups NSO Force and 11:59 and first emerged as Asheber on the NSO underground classic recordings "Chains" and "Freeman”.

Asheber spent the following years up to 2005 widening his horizons even further, touring the world, recording, producing and working with a wide variety of artists that include: Junior Delgado, U-Roy, Winston 'Saxton' Rose, Hardskin, Urban Breeze, Prince Lincoln, Michael Rose and Freddie McGregor. During this time he also found the creative space to collaborate with more London-based artists including: Noel McKoy, Alison Evelyn & 4hero.

Not content to be an innovator and musical artist in his own right, Asheber has continuously found the time to provide Djembe & Storytelling Workshops/Performances (Ancient Lyrics, Mothership, Got2Remember) for schools and local community groups across the U.K.

Always with an eye on the future, he has nurtured his family group Got2Remember, bringing through the younger members of the creative community who have their own story to tell. This project goes from strength to strength and is now a regular feature at Asheber concerts and teaching events.

Asheber continues his work as a community activist till today and is a founder member of the Bese Saka Arts Foundation: The Umbrella Arts Group Of The Diaspora, and it’s collective band Children Of Aya, which features fellow members Derek (Musicalist) Johnson, Winston (Saxton) Rose & Adesose Wallace.

The sum total of all these insperiences form the basis of this debut album release: "Time Traveller”.

Alongside The Afrikan Revolution band Asheber welcomes you to be part of the journey….
