Since her induction into the world of EDM, one radiant voice has continued to break the mold with a host of vital collaborations & her own sensational solo outing, along with a chart-topping single released by Disney star Hannah Montanna on her multi-platinum soundtrack. Now, as the only vocalist signed to legendary Trance imprint Anjunabeats with her breakout single 'Let Go', Aruna is definitely enjoying attention as the industry's new leading lady.
It started in 2007 after singing on the Thrillseeker's hit 'Waiting Here For You', the essential track that made the young vocalist's name amongst her peers. Courtesy of a massive push from the British Trance legend, the first sting had been made & producers worldwide were desperate to have Aruna marry her unique voice to their work. What followed was a spat of collaborations with EDM's most exciting talent, including acts like Cosmic Gate, ATB and Myon & Shane 54, proving that Aruna's unique voice had indeed become the talk of the industry.
With a wealth of collaborations behind her, Aruna's time to shine came just last year with her ubiquitous vocal anthem "Let Go", an emotional account of lost love & surrender that romanced the industry to tears of joy. The track was released on Anjunabeats Volume 8 and quickly became the #2 most popular download on iTunes from the compilation, hammered by nearly every Top 10 DJ & cracking the iTunes Dance Top 200 singles chart at #150.
Keeping a keen eye on the future and with no signs of slowing down, Aruna discusses what's next for her: "I recently started a new House production project with Mario Egeto (Myon) of Myon & Shane 54 called Starfarmers, and I'm finishing up a few new Aruna singles as well, both with Mario at the helm. " She adds: "I've also been hard at work with the Myon & Shane boys on a couple new Velvetine singles. "Safe" was so well-received, it will be a tough act to follow but I'm confident this new material will do the job. Also earlier this year I started DJ'ing. I recently had my first DJ set at Circus here in LA and the crowd response was phenomenal. I'm very much looking forward to doing more of that!"
