There are talents that are learned and there are talents that exist in people from the moment they are conceived. When it comes to people who are given this gift of talent, several great names come to mind. One of these greats was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela. His talent and passion have the power to awaken your child-like inner love for the guitar. His ability for composition, rhythm and melodies of many different styles is evidence of his mastery of musical interpretation. SmoothJazz.com review by Scott O'Brien, VP of Music Programming:

What an incredibly beautiful, passionate collection of music! Arturo Romay's ALMA LATINA is an outstanding project, and an important one
for the Smooth Jazz format. This Latin themed world jazz project is
in the tradition of the best and most memorable work from the likes of Juan Carlos Quintero, Jesse Cook and Marc Antoine. Mr. Romay
brilliantly combines the very best elements of Flamenco and Latin jazz with the more contemporary vibe of Smooth Jazz…spiced throughout with bright, soulful horns, lush melodies and stunning
performances. No wonder Pat Metheny has been quoted as saying
"Arturo's music comes from the heart and he plays with great passion." The songs pulsate with that passion as well as with
sensuality, lyricism, and authenticity. Arturo plays all guitars, including the Venezuelan cuatro on the album. "Cuerdas del Corazón"
is a perfect track for radio to embrace with its rich guitar work and
persuasive melody and there are many others. The power and lifestyle appeal of the Smooth Jazz format has always come from its uniqueness,
and the variety of musical textures it offers its listeners. Albums
like Arturo Romay's ALMA LATINA will insure that Smooth Jazz continues to be a powerful, compelling presence on the musical landscape for a long time!
